STOP SERVICES<br \/>\nStop the Timer service. To do this, follow these steps:<br \/>\nClick Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.<br \/>\nRight-click Windows SharePoint Services Timer, and then click Stop.<br \/>\nClose the Services console.<br \/>\nRun from the command prompt:<br \/>\n<code>stsadm -o osearch -action stop<br \/>\niisreset \/STOP<\/code><\/p>\n<p>2. CLEAR TIMER JOB CACHE<br \/>\nIn Windows Explorer, locate and then double-click the following folder:<br \/>\n<code>Drive:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftSharePointConfigGUID<\/code><br \/>\nNotes<br \/>\nThe Drive placeholder specifies the letter of the drive on which Windows is installed. By default, Windows is installed on drive C.<br \/>\nThe GUID placeholder specifies the GUID folder.<br \/>\nThe Application Data folder may be hidden. To view the hidden folder, follow these steps:<br \/>\nOn the Tools menu, click Folder Options.<br \/>\nClick the View tab.<br \/>\nIn the Advanced settings list, click Show hidden files and folders under Hidden files and folders, and then click OK.<br \/>\nIn Windows Server 2008, the configuration cache is in the following location:<br \/>\n<code>Drive:ProgramDataMicrosoftSharePointConfigGUID<\/code><br \/>\nBack up the Cache.ini file.<br \/>\nDelete all the XML configuration files in the GUID folder. Do this so that you can verify that the GUID folder is replaced by new XML configuration files when the cache is rebuilt.<br \/>\nNote When you empty the configuration cache in the GUID folder, make sure that you do not delete the GUID folder and the Cache.ini file that is located in the GUID folder.<\/p>\n<p>3. CACHE.ini<br \/>\nDouble-click the Cache.ini file.<br \/>\nOn the Edit menu, click Select All.<br \/>\nOn the Edit menu, click Delete.<br \/>\nType 1, and then click Save on the File menu.<br \/>\nOn the File menu, click Exit.<\/p>\n<p>4. INDEX RESET<br \/>\nDelete Indexquery files on on servers:<br \/>\n<code>c:Program FilesMicrosoft Office Servers12.0DataApplications{GUID}<\/code><\/p>\n<p>5. START SERVICES<br \/>\nStart the Timer service. To do this, follow these steps:<br \/>\nClick Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.<br \/>\nRight-click Windows SharePoint Services Timer, and then click Start.<br \/>\nCLose<br \/>\nRun from the command prompt:<br \/>\n<code>stsadm -o osearch -action start<br \/>\niisreset \/START<\/code><br \/>\nConfirm that the IIS Services have all started:<br \/>\n<code>iisreset \/STATUS<\/code><\/p>\n<p>Start full content Crawls and then incremental Crawls<\/p>\n<p>Confirm that they successfully run<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you find that the &#8216;reset index&#8217; in the search administrator doesn&#8217;t work please try the following: On all SharePoint Servers run: 1.
