This Article contains a list of SharePoint 2010 version numbers and related updates.<\/p>\n

Service packs include all previous updates and therefore if a service pack is listed below you do not need to downloadInstall previous CUHotfixesUpdates.<\/p>\n

Please Note:<\/strong> As a result of the new packaging, it is no longer necessary to install the SharePoint Foundation cumulative update and then install the SharePoint Server cumulative update.<\/p>\n

Some updates will require to run the SharePoint 2010 Products and Configuration Wizard (Navigate to Start \u2013 Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products \u2013 SharePoint 2010 Products and Configuration Wizard)<\/p>\n

Service Pack 1<\/span><\/p>\n

After you install Service Pack 1 you must run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard (PSConfigUI.exe) to run upgrade which will update the farm to the latest version. This step is required in order to have full SharePoint functionality. If you do not run PSConfigUI the farm will run, but with reduced capacity. For example, Search will not be able to index content.<\/p>\n

You must restart the User Profile Synchronization service after installing Service Pack 1. For more information see the Start the User Profile Synchronization service<\/a> section in the Configure profile synchronization<\/a> article in the library.<\/p>\n

If the upgrade process fails run psconfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b , if you recieve a update not applied error even if the update has been applied run psconfig.exe-cmd installcheck -noinstallcheck<\/p>\n

To check the upgrade status you can run stsadm.exe -o localupgradestatus to kick of the process.<\/p>\n
