On the Shared Services Administration page, in the Search section, click Search settings.
\nOn the Configure Search Settings page, in the Crawl Settings section, click File types.
\nOn the Manage File Types page, click New File Type.
\nOn the Add File Type page, in the File extension box, type the file name extension for the file type that you want to add (for example, type doc).<\/p>\n

\nDo not precede the file type with the period (.) character.
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n

Click OK.<\/p>\n

Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each file type that you want to add.<\/p>\n
