Presuming a one-off sync only, is there a way to import the selected OU from AD WITHOUT having SharePoint throw its weight around and start trying to force replication (which can create lots of traffic on large networks).

Perhaps a PowerShell command?

Hello ,
What to do if you have installed an incorrect certificate on your Qnap and you forget that you forced access only by https. Now unfortunately i’m unable to access my Nas by web interface. Does pressing the reset button also restore the default certificate ?

Or is there another way around to restore the default certificate?

FTP and SSH is not available (i turned it off)

This helped us resolve our issue, now I have a question, does this permission need to be granted in AD for the Farm account with every new install of Sharepoint so that the UP can retrieve the Profiles?

Hi Luke, Thanks for this post. Came in handy as I had to import wild card ssl from godaddy into a qnap ts410. followed this post and it worked brilliantly.

Itnis worth noting that this issue has been fixed since oct 2010 CU. My recommendation is to deploy Service Pack 1
